What Good Are Wings Without The Courage To Fly?

Maya Angelou said, “One isn’t necessarily born with courage but with potential…” This implies that we all have the potential to be whatever we choose to be. But what use do these potentials have without the courage to achieve them? What good are wings without the courage to fly?

Taking a clue from the eagle, the eagle is a noble bird known for its agility and courage to attain high altitude in the sky. Like the eagle, we must develop the courage to face our dreams and potentials regardless of their altitude. Sometimes, our dreams might seem bigger than our current status. However, its value is not in the magnitude, but rather in the courage to persevere against all odds. This is because, if our dreams are broken, then life will appear like a broken-winged bird that can’t fly.

Certainly, the storms of life would rage. However, it is how we deal with them that defines who we are if we are as strong as the eagle or as feeble as other birds. Don’t allow your fears to make you waver from the storm. The storm is not to break you, but to make you stronger. When everything seems to go against you, remember that the eagle takes off above the storm to lift itself higher.

Always believe in yourself and stretch yourself beyond your limits. If you can flap those wings then you can fly with them. And if you can fly with them, then you can soar high with them.
